Ancient recipes · generous feasts · modern refinement · Algarve · Portugal
Spice brings vibrant, flavour-filled food to events across the Algarve—from relaxed brunches and lunches to parties, wedding banquets, street-food feasts and late-night snacks.
01 · The journey
Spice grew from a fascination with food, travel, markets and the stories carried along the historic spice routes between Portugal and Asia.
Every dish has a story behind it, inspired by culture, family and history. We combine the bold flavours and culinary traditions of Asia with wonderful Portuguese ingredients—comforting food cooked with a grandmother’s love, reimagined with fresh ideas and modern twists.
Charcoal smoke and spice in the air; silk, jewellery and saturated colour; the energy of Bombay reimagined for celebrations beneath the Portuguese sun. Spice follows the old spice routes into the Algarve, where Indian hospitality, cinematic feasts and exceptional local ingredients come together.
The spirit of SpiceOur philosophy · Ideas gathered across continents
Our Indian cooking begins in Himachal Pradesh and North India, enriched by the food cultures of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Myanmar and inspiration from Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Indonesia.
We look beyond familiar restaurant favourites to the regional dishes that give each place its character: fragrant coconut broths, fresh curry pastes, breads cooked over fierce heat, bright pickles and spices toasted low and slow.
We bring those traditions together with excellent Portuguese ingredients, contemporary presentation and calm, professional event service.
Meet the chefs
Indian Head Chef Jagriti Guleria leads our Indian kitchen alongside Sous Chef Rajeev Guleria and an experienced wider team.
Jagriti began cooking at around ten years old in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. She learned from her mother and grandmother and from her Nana Ji, a skilled halwai and restaurant owner in Solan, whose sweets, jalebi, samosas and Chole Bhature left a lasting impression.
After studying Tourism and Hospitality in Singapore, Jagriti gained professional restaurant experience at Chutney Mary and Khansama Indian Tandoori Restaurant. She and Rajeev have since spent four years running their own busy restaurant in Portugal, serving an international community.
Behind them is a discreet wider culinary and events network: trusted restaurant and event partners across the Algarve, access to a pool of around 60 experienced staff, and additional culinary consultancy from established chefs working elsewhere in Europe. Together, they support planning, sourcing, communication, consistent standards and service whenever needed.
Respect for ingredients. Respect for tradition. Menus shaped with care around every family and celebration.
